HData Raises $250K to Accelerate RegTech Business

JOLIET, Illinois — HData, which helps data companies deliver and scale RegTech solutions, announced today the closing of its Friends and Family funding round of $250K, on a post-money valuation of $1.5M. The funding round includes investments from regulatory compliance leaders, tech founders, and policy advocates who share a drive to transform compliance and regulatory processes through technology.

Today’s announcement culminates a year of growth for HData, which amassed 10 partner companies, recruited 22 nationally-recognized experts to its Board of Advisors, and will shortly announce key director appointments. HData will use the financing to fuel the growth of its team, continue to help its partner companies scale their RegTech solutions, and accelerate execution of the company’s mission to integrate regulator-facing and enterprise-facing solutions in one platform.

HData founder and CEO Hudson Hollister made the announcement as part of the virtual RegTech Data Week, hosted by the Data Coalition. HData also announced it is joining the Coalition as a Partner Member, alongside Deloitte, SAP, data.world, and others.

"Our partner companies' RegTech solutions—like Xcential's rule-drafting tools, Elder Research's risk modeling tools, and OpenCorporates' entity resolution—allow both regulators and regulated enterprises to do their work better, faster, and cheaper," said Mr. Hollister. "Over the longer term, we are going to integrate multiple solutions to transform the whole interface between the regulatory sector and the private sector."
